Attractions in Alnwick…
Alnwick is a great area in Northumberland with plenty of attractions and events to participate in. Over the summer period, Alnwick Garden is a top spot to visit! No two months are the same at the gardens, so whenever you decide to visit there will be something different in bloom to catch your eye. At Alnwick Castle this summer there are many different events, The Great War Week is on from the 23rd July – 27th July. With free admission, it is a great day out for all the family. Bailiffgate Museum in Alnwick also offers exciting exhibitions over the summer, currently showing the ‘Batteries Not Included’ exhibition. Available for anyone of all ages, with plenty of activities to do for all the family.
What’s on in Morpeth?
Every Wednesday is Morpeth Market day from 9am to 4pm, with the Farmer’s market on the first Saturday of every month. The market is a great place to pick up some local produce and also support our local businesses that attend. Just north of Morpeth, we have the extraordinary Victorian house, gardens and woodland in the picturesque area of Cragside. Cragside provides some summer holiday fun, with a range of different events for everyone to enjoy!
Travel to the Scottish borders
Berwick-Upon-Tweed is located right on the scottish border, about as far up Northumberland as you can go. This small town at the mouth of the River Tweed has plenty of things to see and do. Berwick is based on the Northumberland coastline, with the growingly popular town of Seahouses – perfect to visit on a summer’s day. From here, you can easily jump on a boat to the Farne Islands and even spend the rest of the day there.
